Team Draft for the 2025 All Star Classic. The draft will start at 7:30 PM EDT on Wednesday, April 9th.
On May 10th at Wayne Valley High School, the yearly tradition returns as GardenStateHSWrestling LLC present the 12th Annual GardenStateHSWrestling.com All-Star Charity Classic. This unique event brings together the top wrestlers in Essex, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties to compete with the proceeds going to charity.
This year’s event will be follow the same format as last year, where four of the top reporters in high school wrestling will have their unique take. Donald J. Brower (GardenStateHSWrestling.com), James Clarke (GardenStateHSWrestling.com), Nick Gantaifis (Daily Record) and Brad Wilson (Lehigh Valley Live) will draft teams similar to fantasy baseball. Once the draft is complete, the wrestlers will be seeded and compete until a winner is crowned at each weight. The team that accumulates the most points gets to donate to the charity of their choice.
Doors will open to spectators at 2:30 PM with wrestling scheduled to begin at 3 PM. We will start with the Girls Semifinals, and the Boys Semifinals will follow. There will be a short break in between the semifinal and medal rounds for team photos. We will then go into the Girls Medal Rounds, followed by the Boys Medal rounds
The matches will run in a 2-1-1 format with a :30 second overtime. All NFHS Wrestling rules apply.
