CONTENDERS: This is by far the toughest NWJAC division. Delbarton has tons of youth to fill the holes of graduating stars and brings in three freshmen who place at kids states in Ty Agaisse (1st at 98), Val Miele (5th at 98) and Nick Farro (3rd at 112). Both Randolph (A.J. Vindici, 7th at 106) and Roxbury (Dillion Artigliere, 5th at 152) have returning state place winners to lead it through its respective tough schedule. Both squads, however, have experience up and down the lineup which should translate into double digit win totals for the rivals. West Morris is also a team to watch for. With five wrestlers returning with at least 25 wins and the two in division losses coming to champion Morris Knolls, who has moved to the American Division and second -place Delbarton, the Chester school is poised for a break out season.
DARK HORSE: Parsippany Hills has been a squad on the rise. While the team finished 4-3 in division matches a year ago, the team finished 12-3 in conference and 18-5 overall.
The Vikings have incredible depth throughout their lineup. The team looks solid from top to bottom with the ability to mix and match wrestlers at key weights. The Vikings are the team that scares most squads in Morris County with its overall talent level.
OTHERS: Chatham, Mendham, Morristown
OUR PICK: Delbarton. The team has a ton of depth and barely skipped a beat when it lost state medal contender Devon Gobbo a year ago for the season. With the additions of Agaisse, Miele and Farro down low combined with retuning medal winners Nick Anderson and Christian Innarella, this looks to be another championship year for the Morristown school.
