CONTENDERS: Hanover Park returns nearly its entire North Jersey, Section 2, Group 1 winning team from a year ago. The team is young and is one of the most disciplined in the state. Parsippany is a squad that will have lots of experience. Each weight has a previous varsity wrestler manning it and coach Fred Piotrowksy has the ability to pull the best results from his teams every year.
DARK HORSE: Whippany Park won the Liberty Division a year ago. The team has a good lineup and the addition of 170-pound senior Vin Mattia, a Seton Hall Prep transfer, should only help the Wildcats on the mat. New coach Devon Engleberger, a 2003 graduate of the Whippany school, should have his team in every match this year.
OTHERS: Dover, Madison
OUR PICK: Hanover Park: The team has momentum on its side. A returning state champion in Anthony Cefolo, a berth in the Group 1 finals, a move from a tough Independence Divison and nearly the entire squad returning has the East Hanover school poised to not only run away with the division but to make some noise in the New Jersey wrestling community.
