GardenStateHSWrestling Announces Wrestling Broadcast Partnership with Sussex County Community College

SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ – GardenStateHSWrestling.com is excited to announce its new partnership with the Sussex County Community College Wrestling program.

Under the partnership, GardenStateHSWrestling.com will broadcast the team’s home wrestling events for the 2024-2025 season. This makes Sussex County Community College the first college team covered by the company.

“Garden State HS Wrestling has been innovating coverage of high school wrestling in New Jersey for the last 12 years and we’re proud to bring that same commitment of excellence into the college ranks. SCCC is first on that list, but certainly will not be the last,” said owner and president Donald Brower.

The live streams will be broadcasted on the GardenStateHSWrestling YouTube channel free of charge, along with a new Sussex County Community College team page on the website which will showcase recent stories and results for the team.

As of right now the team is scheduled for two home quad matches. The first one starts on Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. against Felician University, Union Community College, and Camden Community, and the second is for Jan. 18 also at 10 a.m. with the opponents still to be determined.

Since the start of the wrestling program in 2022, the Skylanders have recently seen a great deal of success under head coach Nick Barzano. Just last season the Skylanders were crowned GSAC Conference Champions, NJCAA Region 19 Champions, and the Gulf Atlantic District Champions. Individually, seven wrestlers qualified for the National Tournament in Iowa and Barzano was named the Gulf Atlantic District Coach of the Year.

“Sussex wrestling is still a new and growing program, brand awareness and exposure are top priorities. Our focus is to take high level wrestlers and get them immediate attention and recognition on the college scene. This will raise their stock while saving them tons of money to take freshman year courses or get a two year degree. Then when moving on to a four year institution they will have plenty of options and interest from schools in all divisions. We are very thankful for GardenStateHSWrestling and their partnership with us to broadcast our home matches and showcase what we are doing so that more kids can take advantage of this opportunity in the future. It will be a great experience for us and the sport as we work together to promote and grow wrestling.”
